At Stonebridge, we chose our UK university partners very carefully. The quality of student support is critical, and we look for attention to detail – the welfare of our students is a primary concern.
We have also selected places we would choose to study ourselves! We have avoided the major cities and looked for the vibrant smaller destinations which can offer all the same amenities in manageable proportions. Adjusting to a new environment is a big step, and we want to make sure the students we counsel are going to a place they will feel both at home and special.
Plus of course there is the question of affordability. UK universities can be expensive, even more so in the big cities. Our partner institutions have created special price deals for Stonebridge students because they recognize how big a step going abroad is financially as well as personally. All our partners have generously agreed to reduce their overall package price for our students, which we pass on directly to the students and their families.
Aberystwyth University
Aberystwyth University is the first of the Stonebridge partners and offers a fully comprehensive range of programs. With a gold rating for teaching excellence, the academic experience is first class and they are also currently rated number 1 in the UK for student experience. Aberystwyth is situated on the Welsh coast and is understandably a great holiday destination, but more importantly is a really student-friendly town. For a real immersion experience, Aber (as it is commonly known) can rarely be beaten.
York St. John University
A beautiful campus in the heart of the wonderful, medieval city of York, York St. John is the perfect place for students wanting a more urban experience in one of the UK’s best modern and historic cities. Students and student support are the main focus of the university and York St. John was rated #10 in all the UK for teaching quality.
Bishop Grosseteste University
BGU was established as a teacher training college, with some of the happiest students in the UK. BGU students have extremely high rates of employability and BGU was recently rated among the very best universities in the UK for teacher training. Lincoln is a lovely city in the heart of England with easy access to all major destinations but is a manageable size and will quickly feel like home. The International team are keen to hear from students from US community colleges who would like to complete their undergraduate degrees in the UK and will be with the student all the way through their journey.
Plymouth St. Mark and St. John University
Ranked number one in England for teaching quality and top 10 in the UK for student experience, students can study what they love in a vibrant community. At Plymouth Marjon University, it’s not about where you started, it’s about where you’re going! Situated on the warm (for the UK) south coast, Plymouth is not only the departure point for the Pilgrim Fathers headed for the New World, but also offers a great range of watersports, beaches and holiday activities.
Queen Margaret University
Ranked “Top Modern University in Scotland” by the Times Good University Guide, 2020. Queen Margaret University is a place of ideas and influence, with a friendly learning environment. QMU offers students the optimum balance of theoretical and practical education to prepare them for successful careers in a friendly and supportive learning environment. Capital city of Scotland, Edinburgh is a spectacular city famous for its festivals and arts, and the programs offered at QMU reflect that special focus.
University of Wolverhampton
At the University of Wolverhampton, you’ll be welcomed into a diverse, rich and vibrant community of students. UW has recently spent millions upgrading the buildings and equipment across all campuses, giving you state of the art facilities to support your studies and prepare you for your career. The School of Engineering has fantastic facilities and industry links that are formed out of years of experience in consultancy and collaborative research projects. UW is one of the larger institutions in the Stonebridge portfolio and is able to offer a very wide range of excellent specialist and generalist Engineering programs, accompanied by very high student satisfaction rates.
Royal Agricultural University
Located in rural Cirencester, RAU has been at the forefront of agricultural and equine education for more than 175 years. RAU prides itself in combining knowledge and industry connections with an innovative, forward-thinking approach. The ‘royal’ title is no coincidence – the Royal Agricultural College has been the pinnacle of all UK agricultural education for generations, and when it became a full university the degree offerings were extended to include many other related disciplines. The recent addition of a Cultural Heritage Institute created even more degree opportunities, and this lovely rural campus within easy distance of London has a lot to offer its students.
